Exotic Game
Home to a Variety of Exotic and Native Wildlife Species
The ranch is home to more than 60 species of exotic and native game, creating exceptional opportunities for sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Wing shooting at Ranger Ridge offers premier hunting experiences, including seasonal waterfowl and dove hunts, as well as upland bird pursuits for quail, chukar, and pheasant, guided by experienced professionals and trained dogs.
Ranger Ridge also features more than 20 bodies of water, including five lakes of six acres or more. Overlooking the signature 20-acre Freedom Lake, El Presidio serves as the social centerpiece of the ranch. Each lake is professionally stocked and carefully managed to provide outstanding catch-and-release fishing while also enhancing habitat for waterfowl and other wildlife.
In addition to the ranch itself, members also have access to an adjacent 2,800-acre lease, further expanding the recreational footprint of Ranger Ridge and offering even more land to explore, hunt, and enjoy the outdoors.
Our Members Don’t Have to Leave the State of Texas in Search of Exotic Game
Save money on that safari trip to Africa or Asia – you can hunt zebras, sheep, wildebeests and over 60 other types of exotic game just an hour away from Dallas-Fort Worth. A Hunter Membership at Ranger Ridge can give you the opportunity to hunt nonnative game year-round (except Whitetail and birds) with a variety of guns and bows across a picturesque nature reserve. Track wildlife through a varied landscape, crossing forests, creeks and hills, all while being enveloped within panoramic views of the Palo Pinto mountains and breathing in clean air.
Instead of dealing with the stress and financial strain of air travel, hotel accommodations, meals and all the other aggravating factors that can weigh down a hunting trip, you can enjoy everything great about a safari right here in the Lone Star State. Members at Ranger Ridge don’t have to worry about dealing with unreliable guides, planning trips to unstable or unsafe countries or handling different currencies or language barriers. You can hunt varied wildlife from across the globe in a pristine reserve right next to our residential community.
No Need to Disappear From Family or Work for Weeks or Months
Some hunters may feel guilty traveling to far-off continents for weeks, a month or more, leaving their family and work obligations behind to go on a hunting trip. At Ranger Ridge, we’re a family-centric community – members can easily bring their families with them on a hunting trip or return to their custom-built home the same day they hunted game native to the African savannah, Caucasus mountains or Central Asia. It’s the perfect opportunity to share time together as you pass this rewarding sport down to your children.
Hunter members can also sharpen their skills before an outing. Our Shooting Pavilion includes a 700-yard long range, 100-yard and 50-yard rifle ranges as well as a 25-yard pistol and bow hunting range. We also offer a myriad of shotgun games (Skeet, Trap, Sporting Clays, 5-Stand, etc.) and extensive training courses provided by skilled experts so you can learn from world-leading professionals.
For family members who would rather watch, our Shooting Pavilion includes an observation deck, equipped with a kitchen and living room accommodation, to make the viewing experience more enjoyable.
