Guar Hunting in Texas

The gaur, also known as the Indian bison, is the largest bovine species in the world and a symbol of strength and power. Native to South and Southeast Asia, these massive animals have dark brown to black coats, with adult males often appearing darker than females. Their distinctive white "stockings" on all four legs and large, curved horns make them easily recognizable.

Gaur stand between 5 and 7 feet tall at the shoulder and can weigh anywhere from 1,400 to 2,200 lbs., with males significantly larger than females. Their sheer size, striking horns, and imposing presence make them a prized challenge for hunters at Ranger Ridge.
