Blue Sheep

Blue Sheep Hunting in Texas

Blue sheep, also known as bharal, are native to the rugged Himalayan regions of Central Asia. Despite their name, their short, dense coat is more of a slate gray with a bluish tint, helping them blend seamlessly with rocky terrain. Males are distinguished by their large, curling horns, which can reach lengths of up to 30 inches.

Blue sheep are medium-sized, with males weighing between 100 and 150 lbs. and females slightly smaller at 70 to 90 lbs. Their exceptional agility and ability to traverse steep, rocky slopes make them a prized challenge for hunters at Ranger Ridge.
